God at Work in Russia

When we released our book How to Pray – and Change Your World in 2022, Greta and I prayed for the Lord to spread it far and wide. We never expected it to end up in Mongolia, where it was translated, and to date 18,000 copies given away. Some Mongolian pastors took it to Russia. There, it was translated, and 10,000 copies printed. Most of these have now been given away, from east Russia all the way to Moscow.

The book is very practical and the Holy Spirit is using it to light a fire of prayer in pastors and their churches. Russian pastor Sergey says, "The impact for eternity on so many thousands is truly amazing. It is hard for me to fully understand what God will do through this book and all those who participate in prayer because of it.”

   In 1855, missionary statesman Hudson Taylor had a vision of the distant future:

I have seen a vision. I saw a great war that encompasses the world. I saw this war recede and then start again, actually being two wars. After this, I saw much unrest, and revolts that will affect many nations. I saw in some places spiritual awakenings. In Russia, I saw there will come a general all-encompassing national spiritual awakening that will spread to many European countries. Then I saw a global awakening, followed by the coming of Christ.

   The vision certainly predicted WW1 and WW2 accurately. That gives hope that the Lord will fulfil the rest as well. However, every prophecy is an invitation to intercession. Spiritual awakening will only come to Russia and the world if the Church prays. This is why there is such a high demand for the book from Russian church leaders. 10,000 copies are not enough for that vast country. More need to be printed.

   Russia is struggling right now. Many churches have lost young adults who have been killed on the frontlines in Ukraine. This is due to compulsory military conscription. May we pray that what Hudson Taylor saw becomes a reality in both Russia and the rest of the world.
